ECSTACY
Distribution
Ecstacy is distributed in either tablets, capsules, or white powder. The most common form is as a tablet, which can contain 0 to 100 mg of MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine), as well as other substances, such as MDA, MDE, Caffeine, Dextromethorphan, Ephedrine, Glyceryl guaiacolate, and phenylpropanol-amine. Because the amount of MDMA, the chemical compound of ecstacy, is hard to determine, it's hard to calculate the proper dosage. Street ecstacy generally contains about 75 to 100 mg of MDMA. The chart below shows dosages for pure MDMA:
Threshold 30 mg
Optimal for small or sensitive people 50-75 mg
Optimal for most people 75-125 mg
Optimal for large or unsensitive people 125-175 mg
Required for few (side effects increase) 200+ mg
Lethal Dose ~6,000 mg
Price
Ecstacy generally sells between $10 and $30
Effects
Ecstacy effects the brain by making it produce excess levels of serotonin, the chemical in your brain that makes you happy and empathetic. It is these raised levels that cause the euphoric feeling associated with ecstacy, as well as the side effects.
Onset 20-90 minutes
Coming Up 5-20 minutes
Plateau 2-3 hours
Coming Down 1-2 hours
After Effects 3-24 hours

Some of the effects that users report are a closeness to those around them, extreme mood lift, a feeling of love and empathy, increased awareness of senses, increase in energy, urge to hug and kiss people, lowering of inhibitions, visual distortion, appetite loss, nervousness, jaw clenching, tongue and cheek chewing, teeth grinding, mild depression and fatigue for 0-7 days, muscle tension, eye jiggling, and vertigo.

Less is More
The typical dose taken is from 75 - 125 mg. Over 175 mg doesn't mean you will have a better experience. It will more likely increase the side effects without making you feel better.
Overdose Effects
Vomiting, headaches and dizziness may result from too high a dose of MDMA.
Safety Issues
  • Do not take ecstacy if you are currently taking an MAO Inhibitor. MDMA and MAOI is a potentially dangerous combination.
  • Do not take ecstacy of you using the protease inhibitor Ritonavir. This may be a life-threatening combination.
  • Do not take ecstacy if you have a history of heart ailments, high blood pressure, aneurism or stroke, glaucoma, hepatic (liver) or renal (kidney) disorders, or hypoglycemia.
  • Avoid strong stimulants with ecstacy.
  • Always remember to take frequent breaks from dancing, sit down, and let your body cool off. Ecstacy can hinder the body's ability to regulate temperature.
  • Ecstacy is said to dehydrate the body. So be sure to drink lots of water, and avoid caffeine and alcohol. Caffeine and alcohol also dehydrate the body.
